Small Flats

Salty Sams. Brunswick Heads.

We are often approached to do small spaces, such a holiday flats. Again, these are properties that people have bought whilst not living in the area, and need someone to assist them from afar. A favourite of these properties that Kathy designed was a beautiful two bedroom flat in Brunswick Heads called Salty Sams. Kathy worked very closely with the owner, Sally Betalli, who had very clear views on how she wanted her flat to look. The owner flew up from Sydney and Kathy went through her current pieces, putting the unwanted aside, going through existing pieces, culling and styling, adding new pieces as they went. Kathy left the client with a list of things to purchase from various op shops, including old paintings of boats and the sea, old books in the nautical colours, fishing memorabilia, to create the look the client was after, and also giving the client the satisfaction of being completely involved in the process. A fresh, contemporary beach flat was achieved in the end.
