The homeowners, a young family of six from Sydney, wanted a holiday home that embraced natural elements and coastal luxe design. Bisque Interiors brought this vision to life, blending organic materials and Mediterranean influences to create a warm, inviting space both inside and out.

This project, known as Sirens, is one of Kathy’s most iconic coastal homes—designed for developer Darrel Grundy and nestled in the heart of Wategos Beach, Byron Bay’s most coveted enclave. Just metres from the shoreline and the renowned Raes boutique hotel, the brief was clear: create a simple, fuss-free holiday home using durable, low-maintenance materials that still feel elevated and relaxed.
Small Apartments
Salty Sams. Brunswick Heads.
Salty Sams is a charming two-bedroom holiday flat in Brunswick Heads, brought to life through a close creative collaboration between Kathy and owner Sally Betalli. Like many of our clients, Sally purchased the property from Sydney and needed trusted guidance to help shape her vision from afar. With a clear aesthetic in mind, Sally flew up to Byron to meet with Kathy, and together they curated the space—culling, styling, and layering in new pieces as they went.
HOTELS
The Ballina Manor Hotel. Ballina.
This historic building was initially a girls school in the early 1900’s. It has been turned into a hotel, since, and is listed as a Historic Sight in our region. The latest owner, Barry Wain, a well known hotelier, owning many famous hotels in Sydney and the founder of Camp Eden, enlisted Kathy to help him with this hotel project. We redesigned all of the bedrooms and foyer regions, and designed the dining and pool area for the next step of their project.
Homes For Resale
The Palace. Ewingsdale.
This is a service that we offer at Bisque. Kathy will redesign the rooms, taking out what is not required, rearranging appropriate pieces currently in the home and adding essential items required, at a discounted price.
This 10 million dollar property was recently restyled by Kathy at the end of 2021. The owner, a local attorney, has had this home in his family for fifteen years and is now ready to pass it on to a new family, now that all his kids have left home.
FEDERATION HOMES
Hinterland House. Bangalow.
This magnificent mansion was built in 1906. The brief was to marry the Bisque/Byron look with the classic federation style home. This house was a massive undertaking, and every single one of the 8 bedrooms and 3 living areas was redone. Luckily the budget was open and Kathy was able to go in with zero restrictions to transform this home, giving it a fresh, modern twist, whilst keeping its authenticity. On completion of the project at the end of 2021, the home was taken on by the prestigious SPICERS group, and is being run as a small luxury hotel.
